MFRS & MPERS Reporting
In Malaysia, companies are required to prepare their financial statements in accordance with one of two main accounting frameworks: Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (“MFRS”) or the Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standard (“MPERS”).
MFRS is adopted by public interest entities and is closely aligned with the International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”), making it suitable for listed companies and those with global operations.
MPERS, is tailored for private entities and offers a simplified, principles-based approach aligned with IFRS for SMEs, making it ideal for companies that are not publicly accountable.
